There's no single "best" - it depends on what you make. Full-color stickers and hard goods point to a UV printer; cotton or dark shirts at volume to a DTF printer; light-polyester shirts and tumblers to sublimation; and white or metallic on dark materials to a white toner printer. The tool above matches you to the right type in about 30 seconds based on your projects and budget.
For full-color, waterproof, die-cut stickers, a UV printer (like the xTool Omni or eufyMake E1) gives the best adhesion - or a Roland print/cut if you're selling in volume. For paper or planner stickers, a home printer plus a Silhouette cutter is all you need. It comes down to whether your stickers are waterproof, cut-to-shape, or paper, and the tool sorts that for you.
For cotton and dark shirts, a DTF printer is the workhorse (or a white toner printer at lower volume). For light-colored polyester, sublimation is the cheapest way in. Sublimation can't print cotton or dark garments - the #1 thing that trips people up - so the tool asks about your fabric before pointing you anywhere.
Sublimation dyes the design into the material, so it's smooth and permanent - but only on light-colored polyester and poly-coated blanks. DTF prints a transfer that presses onto almost any fabric, including cotton and darks. If you need cotton or dark shirts, that rules sublimation out and points you to DTF.
Not really - most "do everything" machines are jacks of all trades, best at none. A white toner printer, a Roland, or the xTool Omni UV+DT Fabric each cover a wide range, but each has tradeoffs (a white toner needs a separate cutter for stickers, for example). If you make lots of different things, the tool flags the all-in-one options and where they fall short.
